The Lobster Pot – Bermudiana Road, Hamilton

Founded in 1973, The Lobster Pot has been one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Bermuda for over forty years, a testament to the fantastic food and friendly atmosphere that is found here.

Offering delicious seafood at reasonable prices, locals flock to this restaurant in lobster season for the freshest local catch of the day. A wide variety of seafood is available, with Spiny Bermudian lobster prepared during the local harvest season, and Maine lobster being flown in weekly at all other times.

The cosy interior is decorated in a nautical theme, with buoys, fishing nets and lobster traps adorning the walls. There is also a covered veranda outside for those who wish to dine al fresco.

Lunch is starting at 11.30am Monday to Friday. A popular starter on the lunch menu is Island Style Conch Chowder, laced with black rum and sherry peppers. Main courses include Lobster, Shrimp and Crab Cakes, a variety of salads, a Creole Shrimp Pasta and Cup Match, which is deep fried panko-crusted fish fillet with tartar sauce, served in a Kaiser roll.

Dinner is available every night except public holidays, and the starter menu features delicious items such as Coconut Shrimp served with sweet chili sauce, Conch Fritters with a light banana chutney and modern garnish, and steamed Cultivated Mussels served either with marinara or a garlic, lemon and herb cream sauce.

Featured main dishes include Bermuda Triangle, a combination of shrimp, scallops and fish broiled and served in a lemon butter sauce, English Style Fish and Chips, and the Seafood Lovers Feast, half a Maine lobster, mussels, stone crab and shell-on shrimp, simmered in saffron stock.

There are also tempting options available for those who don’t eat seafood, such as fillet mignon or sirloin steak, succulent rack of lamb, or Moroccan Chicken, which is grilled marinated chicken, served with spicy harissa sauce over cous-cous with almonds, onions and raisins.
