In a spectacular location, minutes from downtown Hamilton and overlooking Hamilton Harbour, Harbourfront Restaurant is a great place for a celebration meal, with friendly service and an innovative and inviting menu.
The interior décor is contemporary and elegant, with crisp white table settings and interesting artwork. Almost every table offers views of the water from the large windows. The gorgeous outdoor covered terrace, which is right on the water’s edge, offers fantastic views of the harbour, where diners can watch the boats and the fish pass by in the crystal clear water.
The restaurant provides a wide range of international cuisines, and is famous for its sushi dishes. Open for Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food here is not to be missed.
Harbourfront serves a range of hot and cold appetizers, including Escargot with crushed red pepper and fresh herbs, Polpette De Vitello, which is veal meatballs in a light tomato sauce, and Oyster Tempura, which are lightly fried oysters in a crispy batter, served in a half shell with spicy soy sauce.
From the huge array of main dishes available, diners could try the Yellowfin Tuna “Harbourfront Style” – pan-seared herb marinated tuna steak topped with cherry tomatoes and olives, and served with an olive oil and balsamic dressing. There is also Veal Milanese, thinly pounded and breaded veal steak, served on a salad of arugula, onion, and tomato and drizzled with citronette dressing.
Another fun option at Harbourfront is the Bento Box, which includes Miso Soup to start, and is an authentic Japanese lunchbox of spicy tuna, maki, eel, salmon, tuna sashimi, and shrimp tempura served on salad with miso-marinated black cod and stir-fried vegetables.
Host Pierangelo Lanfranchi has created a number of special signature dishes for his regular customers, which features Steak Tartare “Harbourfront Style”, Shrimp Tempura “Malaysian Style” served in Asian curry sauce, and Tokio M, which is tuna wrapped with Nori, fried in tempura batter and then thinly sliced and served with chili sauce and spring onions.
There is a Sushi and Tempura Bar, which serves a huge array of Japanese dishes, and has a Happy Hour Menu, served from 5pm until 6.30pm, which features Sashimi, Maki Mono, Nigini and Temaki, and wine by the glass, beer, and hot and cold sake.
Popular dessert options include Tiramisu, Fried Ice-cream with chocolate sauce, and Chocolate Hazelnut Crepe served with vanilla ice-cream and banana.
