Dockyard
Head over to Fun Golf’s bar, and you can see a spectacular sunset. During summer months, they are open 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. With the 180-degree view of the water and the sunset in the backdrop, you are sure to remember a night here.
Ireland Island
– Just outside of Dockyard, you will find Black Bay Beach. This gem is another one of those places you need to head to.
On Watford Island in Sandys
– Between Somerset Village and Dockyard, one can get panoramic views of the western sunsets on a multitude of spots.
After the sun has set, you can make your way in either direction and be in Dockyard or Somerset Village – both of which have bars and restaurants to make it an evening to remember.
On Somerset Island in Sandys
– Just down the road from the Willowbank Hotel is a fort – Fort Scaur – and up here you will have a wonderful view of the island. It is on top of Scaur Hill and on most days you can go inside the fort through an open entrance, and it is always free to visit. You really ought to see this place.
– Somerset Long Bay is perfect if you’re looking for seclusion during the week. You will find the beach and small park with a few people on the weekends, however, during the week this small beach near Cambridge Beaches is a perfect place to watch the sun go down with little to no people around.
In Southampton
At the Pompano Beach Club, they have the rightly named “Sunset Lounge”. Enjoy the sunset from inside the bar or out on the patio. There is never a cover charge, and you will have stunning views of the ocean which provide an ideal romantic setting. During the summer, lasting up until mid-October, you can enjoy live entertainment most nights of the week. Whale Bay Beach and Fort
Get on a #7 or #8 Bus and ask your friendly bus driver to be dropped off at Whale Bay Road. Walk to the end of Whale Bay Road (hugging the road left) and you will come to the park. In the back right corner of the park you will find the path to the beach. Before the sun sets, make sure to explore Whale Bay Fort on top of the hill. This Fort was used to guard a narrow cut through the reef into the island and provides a spectacular view of the sunset.
The restaurant Coconuts at The Reefs Resort and Club
This is the perfect location for a couple looking for romance. The Reefs is an award-winning resort and the restaurant showcases why. If you are looking to indulge, make sure to make reservations ahead of time.
South shore beaches
Anywhere along the south shore will have a great view of the ocean, but a few beaches in particular that we would recommend to watch the sun set are Church Bay, Horseshoe Bay, and Warwick Long Bay.
