    Hi John,
My fiancé and I are looking at getting married possibly August 2016, looking into taking a cruise out of Baltimore which docks in Bermuda for 3 days. 14. Amanda says:

Hi – Can you confirm the amount we need to send to the Registrar general in 2015 to obtain a license and certificate? $354 ? Also, what does the goverment site mean when it states you need permission from clergy to get married on beach? Lastly, do USA citizens need to bring birth certificates, Social security cards, or proof of single?

    • John says:

      Hi Amanda,

That is the price, but before you send in your check, call the Registrar and follow their instructions about filling out the form. They are extremely helpful. Here are some contact details: (441) 297-7709 | kminors@gov.bm. You do not need permission to get married on the beach from a clergy, but you will need to apply for a public permit through the Parks Department. What they mean is that some clergy will only marry in their church while others will marry outside, such as on a beach. The Registrar General will be able to send you a list of officiants and you can find a clergyman who will marry you on the beach. No proof of of being single is required. Head to this page on our website and you can find the Notice of Intended Marriage to download: FAQs for a Bermuda Wedding Fill this form out and you will be able to apply for your marriage certificate. Take note of the dates for the form as this is important, “The form must be filled out in full and received by the Registrar General’s office at least 15 days prior to the wedding and it is valid for you to have your wedding at any date up to 3 months after the license has been issued.” If you have questions about the form, the Registrar General is quick to break everything down in regards to requirements and what you will need.

      Hope this helps,
      John

    • John says:

I have clients looking for a CLIFF WEDDING – google searches sent me to you. What do you suggest?

    • John says:

Hi Beth, thanks for reaching out to us. I would suggest Astwood Park as a great place for a cliff wedding. If it is simply a beautiful view that your clients are after, then the Commissioner’s House in the Royal Naval Dockyard or Fort Scaur are great places to consider as well.

      Kind regards,
      John

  21. Tiffany says:

    Hello,

I’m thinking about taking a cruise to bermuda with all of my guests and having a wedding in an old or unfinished church in Bermuda. I’m open to other ideas, but really like the idea of getting married in a church. Can you send me information concerning transportation from the cruise ship to the wedding destination? I’d also like for the church to be on or very close to the beach because I’d like to have my reception on the beach. Also, I like the idea of places that are all inclusive so I’m not buying each individual chair, table, etc. for the ceremony and reception. Trying to be as cost effective as possible. Thank you!

    Tiffany

    • John says:

      Hi Tiffany,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We can talk about a few of our packages and find something within your budget. We also book cruises to Bermuda as well, so we can handle all aspects of your wedding, which should also help to reduce costs.

We’ll send an email to you in order to open up a dialogue.

      Regards,
      John

  26. Alisha says:

Hello! My fiancé and I are planning to take a cruise to Bermuda where we would like to get married. We saw the plans through the cruise line for the ceremony but we would like the reception to be on the beach where we have the ceremony, rather than going back on the cruise ship for the reception. Is this possible? We are thinking it will be about 40 people attending.

    Thank you, Alisha

    • John says:

      Hi Alisha,

I just spoke to a bride yesterday that wants a simple cocktail hour on the beach afterward her ceremony, so we can email you over a few options to choose from. We’ll hash out the details of what you want and I’ll introduce you to our wedding planner, Giuliana.

      Talk soon,
      John

  27. Brendon says:

    Hi John,

We are thinking of a wedding in Bermuda for Summer 2016 (August). We are beginning to look at locations & settings for the ceremony and dinner. We’re planning to have about 60 guests for the ceremony and a reception. Do you have information on possible venues/locations/etc.? We’d love a beautiful outdoor ceremony! Thanks for your help!

    Thanks,
    Brendon

    • John says:

Hi Brendon, we’d have to chat more about budget and the types of settings you are looking for. I can email you now to discuss the details more. For example, there are forts, such as Fort St Catherine or The National Museum of Bermuda. Or you can look at Coco Reef as a beautiful location on the South Shore. Something on the water is also an option with a ceremony on the beach and reception on the water.

I’ll send over an email right now to chat more.

      Regards,
      John

      • Janice says:

Hi! I have a similar question. We are looking to cruise to Bermuda out of New Jersey or New York in May 2017 along with approx 40 guests. We would be docked in Bermuda for 3 days and would have the wedding the 1st day docked. We want to get married on the beach and have a dinner reception either in the same spot or at a restaurant or resort. Having it all in one spot is ideal! Then head back to the boat afterwards. Would need transportation to/from ship to wedding location. We want the flowers, music cocktails, dinner … A full reception instead of just a cocktail reception. If perhaps doing a straight destination to Bermuda instead of cruise is more cost effective, we are open to that.
        Thank you,
        Janice

        • John says:

          Hi Janice,

Both options you are looking for are possible, at a resort and/or restaurant, both having locations on the pink sand beaches of the South Shore. CocoReef for example has a great location. We have wedding packages for what you’re looking for and our wedding planner offers a free consultation. In regards to flowers, you won’t be able to bring in any live flowers to the island, but you are able to pick flowers from florists in Bermuda. They have great options, but you also will not be able to bring them back on the ship. Another idea is paper flowers from Etsy or online elsewhere. Our wedding planner has great ideas here. I will email you now to connect you for a free consultation. Talk soon.

  28. Katie anne says:

Hello, I am interested in having my wedding at the st. Georges unfinished church, or the reefs, or ashwood park. I want to know price estimates for a 50 person wedding ceremony/reception.

    • John says:

Hi Katie, I will send you an email now and connect you with our wedding planner for a complimentary quote for a wedding at the Unfinished Church. Thank you and happy holidays!

  29. Salima says:

    Hi

Can you send me some pricing. Also looking to have a symbolic ceremony only (we will get married prior to leaving here in Canada)

    Thank you

    • John says:

Hi Salima, sure thing. I can introduce you to Giuliana, our travel and wedding planner. We can certainly offer discounts on your wedding fees when booking your cruise with us. I’ll reach out by email right now. Talk soon. John

    • John says:

Hi Geralynn. I’ll have our wedding planner reach out to you. She should be emailing you tonight or tomorrow to discuss any details.

  31. Janet says:

Hi, are there any places for a 75-100 person wedding? :)

    • John says:

Hi Janet, I see our wedding planner has emailed you earlier and has started the process of discussing locations that would be a good fit for a wedding of that size. If there are any questions, let us know. Thanks.

Planning a wedding for April 2018. Looking to have flowers, a beach location, transportation and a nice place after to have some local food and a small wedding cake. Looking to stay on a budget. Family of hopefully 40 all coming in by cruise ship and plane. Can you help me out with details and pricing please?

Thank you for reaching out Danielle. We have 2018 prices for a wedding in Bermuda and can help you start planning. Our wedding planner will email you tomorrow so you can start looking at prices and understanding your options for the ceremony as well as options for local food options better. Some quick examples, we can do a beach buffet style meal, rent out a nearby restaurant private area, look at hotel patios and catering with the wedding ceremony on the hotel’s beach. Our planner will go over all these options and more though in a free consultation and proposal. I’ll email her now with your comment and contact details. Talk soon – John
