Discover Bermuda on a Historic Expedition
Begin an exciting journey through Bermuda’s maritime history and breathtaking scenery with one of the island’s most experienced shore excursion guides. Five hours of touring through the gates of His Majesty’s Dockyard, a historic landmark that was once the British Royal Navy’s main base in the Western Atlantic. From its origins in 1795 to its role during the Cold War, this site has been meticulously restored to become the expansive “Maritime Museum,” offering a treasure trove of stories and historical significance.
The first stop takes us to Fort Scaur, the first line of defense of the Shipyard. Situated in a strategic position, it enjoys the most spectacular panoramic view of Bermuda, from where all ships entering the island’s waters are monitored. Here you will see monuments that tell the story of Bermuda’s first inhabitants and settlers, including the second-oldest fortress in the archipelago.
The final destination lies on the outskirts of Bermuda’s capital, Hamilton, in the parish of Pembroke. Crossing a wooden bridge above a moat, we reach Fort Hamilton, a historical gem adorned with cannons and military ammunition.
This tour operates from November to April on Tuesdays and Thursdays, unless a private charter is booked directly through the company. Join us on a quest to uncover the secrets of Bermuda, where 91 forts were constructed for two distinct reasons, making this excursion a tour through history, adventure and natural beauty.
