Disability Assistance Offered by the Airline:

American Airlines:

  • American Airlines (AA) offers pre-boarding, deplaning, and airport assistance for those traveling with a medical device, a wheelchair, or other mobility devices.
  • AA requires 48-hour notice in order to approve electronic medical devices for use on a flight. All medical devices that are approved for use must be battery operated. The battery type will need approval as well.
  • Mobility and medical devices don’t count towards your carry-on limits.

  • Keep in mind that once you land in Bermuda, there is no ramp that allows the plane to be wheelchair accessible when getting off the plane. There will be a set of steps, around 25 in total. When at the bottom, the Bermuda airport staff can arrange to have a wheelchair available. You will need to alert the Delta staff though, so that they are aware and can prepare once landed.

 

Directions to Philadelphia International Airport

From Center City Philadelphia →

Take I-95 South until you see signs for the Philadelphia International Airport Exit,
Or take I-76 East following signs for the Philadelphia International Airport

From the PA Turnpike →

Take the PA Turnpike to the Mid-County Exit, then take 476 South (Chester) to I-95
North. From there you will see signs for the Philadelphia International Airport Exit

From the NJ Turnpike →

Take Exit 3 to the Walt Whitman Bridge. Then Take exit 351 for I-95 toward Trenton-Chester. Keep right then take I-95 South. Follow I-95 South to the Philadelphia International Airport Exit.

From Delaware →

Start on the 1-N and then take I-95 North until you see signs for the Philadelphia International Airport Exit. The trip is about 70 miles long from Dover.
