Ascots restaurant is located in the boutique Royal Palms Hotel on the outskirts of the City of Hamilton, and this gem of a restaurant provides sensational cuisine and service in a show-stopping setting.
Voted “Best Ambience” an impressive five times by Bermuda’s Gold Awards, the restaurant is housed in a colonial building constructed in 1903, and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and fountains. Inside, the large silk-curtained windows look out onto the pool, patio and gardens. The walls are covered with soothing shades of green, to provide a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere for guests.
There is also a private Wine Dining Room, which seats 14 people, and is the perfect place to hold a dinner party, surrounded by bottles from around the world.
The menu is described as Progressive Continental/Mediterranean, and takes advantage of the highest quality seasonal produce to provide exceptional food all year round. Executive Chef Edmund has created an array of dishes to awaken your senses, and provide you with a memorable meal.
Amongst the appetizers, there are Tiger Shrimps Tempura, Sautéed Snail, and Lump Crab Escobage. There are also a variety of soups and salads.
Popular main courses include Crab Crusted Baked Snapper, Roasted Veal tenderloin, and Oven Roasted Banbury Duck, all served with fresh, locally-grown vegetables.
A popular dessert on offer is the Crêpes Garibaldi, served with fresh berries and cream.
Patrons can enjoy a drink in the Ascots Bar Lounge, which has the atmosphere of an English Country house with its antique porcelain and Queen Anne armchairs. The covered terrace, patio or the front porch are also perfect spots to relax with a cocktail.
