Famous for its elegant seafood cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, Café Lido is known as one of the most romantic places to eat on the island. From the stylish and sophisticated interior, the scene out of the large windows is simply to die for. There is an unrestricted vista of the pink sand beach to the endless ocean beyond, and the views of the beach from here are second to none.
The Lido is known for its fresh seafood and good, old-fashioned Bermudian service. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and has been awarded the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence 2014.
The menu changes regularly and there are many beautifully presented daily specials on offer. Some highlights from the appetizer menu are the Crispy Pan Sautéed Foie Gras with rhubarb compote, balsamic reduction and hand-made toasted brioche, and the Oven Roasted Octopus with fava beans, artichokes and garlic oil. There is also a selection of soups, salads and pasta dishes available.
Popular main course dishes include Bouillabaisse Revisited, which contains shrimps, scallops, snapper, calamari, and little neck clams in a tomato, saffron and vegetable broth. There are a selection of steaks and chops available from the grill, also served with fresh, locally-sourced vegetables. There is also a Sesame and Ginger Honey Glazed Salmon dish, served with coconut rice and Bermuda carrot spaghetti, and Veal Scallopini “Oscar”, served with asparagus, crab meat, brocollini and goats cheese potato gratin, and topped with Bearnaise sauce.
There is an astonishing range of delicious desserts to choose from, including Warm Chocolate Molten Pudding with spiced poached pear compote and vanilla ice-cream, Strawberry Pannacotta with a strawberry and mint salad, and a Thyme, Ginger and Bermuda Honey Crème Brulée.
