Deposit Requirements:
  • A NON-REFUNDABLE payment of 25% of your total stay is required to secure the reservation unless the reservation is made within two (2) weeks of your stay, where 100% of the room balance is due.
  • Total room balance is due fourteen (14) days prior to your arrival date.
    Advance payments will be applied toward your total stay.
    Please make payments in the form of a credit card payment either through our online booking engine or by phone.

 

Cancellation policy:

  • After booking confirmation, your room will be shown as reserved and in turn, many reservation inquiries will be turned away, therefore a strict cancellation policy is enforced. No exceptions.
  • Cancellations (or changes to the reservation that result in fewer nights being booked) made within fourteen (14) days of arrival are subject to 100% of the total room stay.

  • The total room balance is due 14 days prior to your arrival date.
  • Daily continental breakfast is complimentary for each guest.
  • Each room is based on a 2 person occupancy. For more than 2 guests, each additional guest over the age of 5, is charged $25 per person, per night.

After You Confirm Booking With Us:

  • After you’ve picked up all your luggage, and you exit the customs area of the airport, you will walk out towards the exit of the airport through a set of double doors. Here you will find our drivers straight ahead with a sign with your name on it. Once you connect with them, from here, they will help you with your luggage to their vehicle, and transport you to your guest house.
  • In order to plan for flight delays, Thinking of Bermuda staff, as well as our transportation partners, watch your flight arrival time online. If there are any delays with your flight, we will still be there to pick you up no matter what time. We will be there for you when you arrive.

Beaches Near Grotto Bay Beach Resort
Tobacco Bay

At Tobacco Bay, you’ll find all the amenities you’ll need to explore this Bermuda paradise in St. Georges. Rent chairs, umbrellas, or snorkeling equipment and buy food or alcohol and soft drinks from the bar/restaurant there. Explore the picturesque rock formations that surround the bay. It is a small beach, and full of people and activity, but if you are in the east end, it is worth checking out, even if for a few drinks.

St. Catherine’s Beach

0.9 miles/ 1.4 kilometers | A quiet beach that’s optimal for swimming, St. Catherine’s is worth the short walk from Tobacco Bay. Check out the fish around the reefs and rocks near the old pier and fort. Keep your eyes open for sea glass, but be careful not the take any away from the beach.

Achilles’ Bay

0.9 miles/ 1.5 kilometers | One of Bermuda’s best-kept secrets, Achilles’ Bay offers amazing rock formations and water that’s perfect for snorkeling. One of a few Bermuda beaches with a bar.

Building Bay

0.9 miles/ 1.5 kilometers | This sea glass paradise has many treasures to offer, including an 1860s fort open to the public and a cave to explore. Make sure to not take the sea glass with you.

Clearwater Beach & Turtle Bay

4.5 miles/ 7.2 kilometers | This family-friendly beach offers tranquil blue waters for water paddling or canoeing and white sand for sunbathing. Lounge under the Casuarina trees or take the whole family to the playground and scenic picnic spots.

Cooper’s Island Nature Preserve

4.9 miles/ 7.8 kilometers | This unspoiled paradise is a relaxing 12-acre destination with trails, beaches, and spectacular views. Look for killifish, sea birds and crabs at the salt Marsh and spot whales (March to April) and migratory birds at the Wildlife Observation Tower. There are a few beaches here in the Nature Preserve, and you can snorkel off any of them to see some of the island’s best snorkeling off a beach.

Tucker House Museum

0.1 miles/0.2 km South – This 1750s-era house was once the residence of Henry Tucker, a famous and influential Bermudian who served as president of the Governor’s Council from 1775-1807. See how he would have lived day to day in this beautifully preserved home, which includes household items that the Tuckers used, such as china, furniture crafted from English mahogany and Bermudian cedar, and impressive hand-sewn quilts.

Bermudian Heritage Museum

0.2 miles/0.3 km East – An important stop in the African Diaspora Heritage Trail, this museum features the social, political, and cultural achievements of black Bermudians. Highlights include the 1959 Theatre Boycott, which led to the end of segregation on the island, and Cup Match, the annual two-day cricket game and celebration. The building is the former lodge of a Good Samaritans chapter that assisted black people after emancipation.

Bermuda National Trust Museum

0.2 miles/0.3 km South – The Globe Hotel, one of Bermuda’s oldest stone buildings, now houses a museum with a unique look at the island’s history. The gift shop and video presentation on the main floor lead to the permanent second-floor exhibit focusing on Bermuda’s role in the American Civil War. Let the National Trust Museum be the centerpiece of your visit to St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Victoire Cafe & Cycle Club

0.2 miles/0.3 km West – This minimalist cafe is a popular destination for cyclists looking to refuel with an espresso. Delicious coffee and European-style treats are on the menu. Stop by this trendy destination to enjoy the water view in person or have treats and drinks delivered to your yacht or tender at nearby Penno’s Wharf.

St. George’s Historical Society Museum

0.2 miles/0.3 km East – Travel through the early days of Bermuda at this museum, which is located in the town of St. George, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The museum is inside Mitchell House, which still looks much like it did when it was built in the 1730s, including period furniture and a colonial-era kitchen. Other documents and artifacts include a printing demonstration with a Gutenberg-style printing press.

King’s Square

0.2 miles/0.4 km South – Kick off a walking tour of St. George’s at King’s Square, a popular local gathering place surrounded with colonial-era buildings, including the 1782 town hall and the Bermuda National Trust Museum. The building that now houses the Bank of Butterfield served as a mess hall during the American Revolution in 1776. Check out the replica ducking stool by the waterfront – it’s often the site of colonial reenactments.

KS Watersports

0.2 miles/0.4 km South – See Bermuda from every angle with air and sea adventures by KS Watersports. Explore the ocean aboard a jet ski, join a small group on an adventure powered by the Wildcat, or enjoy a bird’s eye view of the island while parasailing. If you’d rather chart your own course, rent a boat, kayak, or paddle board and hit the water.

Unfinished Church

0.2 miles/0.4 km East – This elegant St. George’s Town structure is an important landmark. Construction started in 1874 and the church was intended to replace St. Peter’s Church after a storm damaged that church beyond repair, but it was never finished due to funding problems and a split within the church. A hurricane destroyed the nascent Gothic structure in 1926, leaving behind ruins that are now a protected historic monument, which also serves as a popular wedding location.

Somers Garden

0.3 miles/0.4 km East – This calm green park is free and open daily. A relaxing place to take a break, Somers Garden is named after Sir George Somers, the colonial founder of Bermuda. A modest tomb pays tribute to him. A large fountain and a moongate (an architectural feature considered to be good luck for newlyweds who walk through it) are also featured on the grounds.

Moran Meadows Bermuda Horse Trail Ride

0.6 miles/1 km East – For a unique view of Bermuda’s trails, coastline, and beaches, hop aboard the back of one of Moran Meadows’ friendly horses for a 60- to 90-minute ride. Step off the beaten path for unbeatable views of the island and ocean vistas. You can even venture into the water with your horse if you’d like.

Fort St. Catherine and Museum

1 miles/1.6 km North – Bordered by St. Catherine Beach and Achilles Bay, Fort St. Catherine is one of the most impressive forts in Bermuda. The exhibits and artifacts in the museum, including an antique weapon collection and dioramas of Bermudian history, are an interesting way to spend an afternoon. For a memorable experience, try the guided lantern tour on Thursday evenings.

Alexandra Battery

1 miles/1.7 km Southeast – This former fort dates from the 1860s and still has one of the nine guns that were mounted there, as well as two emplacements for modern guns that you can still climb up to enjoy the view. Nearby Building Bay beach is a popular destination for colorful sea glass.

Bronco Stables

1.1 miles/1.8 km East – Explore the historic charm of St. George’s with a horse-drawn carriage tour by Bronco Stables. Snap photos as you make your way along the coast, where you’ll see colonial-era homes, tropical gardens, a working dairy farm and the sweeping ocean views awaiting you at Gates Fort. Keep your eyes peeled for sea glass during a stop at Buildings Bay Beach.

Burnt Point Fort

2.9 miles/4.6 km Southwest – Built by the British in 1688, this fort once defended against enemy ships and allowed the supervision of illegal sea trading. Face Smith’s Parish from the ruins to spot the former support structure for Bermuda Railways.

Carter House

2.9 miles/4.7 km South – Carter House is one of the oldest homes in Bermuda. Sturdy Bermuda stone and classic architecture house four centuries of St. David’s history and culture, including 17th-century tools and a look at what life was like back then. A recreated settlers’ hut features an original cooking fireplace and an old tavern table.

Tom Moore’s Jungle

3.8 miles/6.1 km Southwest – Also known as Blue Hole Park, Tom Moore’s Jungle is a 12-acre reserve that offers the best of wild Bermudian habitats. It’s named after the Irish poet who loved to write in the area. Stroll the forest trails to spot mangrove trees, several species of birds, and swimming grottos, including the Blue Hole. The park also includes interesting underground caves.

Blue Hole Park

3.8 miles/6.1 km Southwest – Also known as Tom Moore’s Jungle and Walsingham Nature Preserve, this popular park spreads over 12 acres. Explore trails and paths to see a variety of natural attractions, including caves with stalactites, natural pools, and the clear blue mangrove pond that the park is named for.

Dive Bermuda – Grotto Bay

4 miles/6.4 km Southwest – Daily one- and two-tank dives offer a chance to explore Bermuda’s many reefs and wrecks in a valet-style small group environment. Take a PADI diving course or try the Discover Scuba Dive experience, a popular option for divers who can only spare a few hours. The dive boat, Bottom Time, visits a shallow reef for snorkeling every afternoon.

Crystal & Fantasy Caves

4.1 miles/6.6 km Southwest – Unforgettable underground sights await in this popular attraction. Deep pools of clear blue water are surrounded by crystal formations of all shapes and sizes, from big chandeliers to thin soda straws.

St. David’s Lighthouse

4.5 miles/7.2 km Southeast – St. David’s Lighthouse perches on the highest point of the island’s eastern tip and beams light 20 miles over the ocean. It dates back to 1879 but still serves as a beacon today, as well as the finish line for major Trans-Atlantic yacht races. Visit in April or May to see humpback whales migrating past Bermuda or climb the 85 steps to the top for views of the countryside and water.

Hydrobike Bermuda

4.5 miles/7.3 km Southwest – The twin pontoons and pedal-driven propeller keep these fun watercrafts stable so you can cruise across the water as easily as you’d ride a bike on land. Built-in coolers, storage, and drink holders make it easy to pack a lunch and drinks and pedal to a secluded beach. Alternatively, two adults and two kids can share a paddle boat.
