MEAL PLANS

Grotto Bay Beach Resort is the only hotel in Bermuda that has an all-inclusive, three-meal pricing option that also covers expenses for a variety of resort-based activities. More than that, Grotto Bay offers three separate meal plans, including the All-inclusive plan, the Breakfast Plan, and the Modified American Plan.

All-inclusive plan

  • The Resort’s All-inclusive plan is priced at $114 per adult, per day (including gratuity) and $84 per child, per day (including gratuity). This is a great plan for guests who prefer to have all their meals, drinks and Resort activities paid for in one daily fee. To purchase this plan a guest must have a reservation for 3 or more consecutive nights.  
  • Under this plan, a child is considered 4 to 16 years old. Children aged 3 and younger are free when their parents purchase the plan.

Breakfast Plan

  • This plan is perfect for business travelers or island explorers and ensures your day starts off right. The Breakfast Plan costs $22 per adult, per day (including gratuity) and costs $13 per child, per day (including gratuity).
  • Under this plan, a child is considered 4 to 12 years old. This plan can only be purchased by guests who have booked a room for 2 or more consecutive nights.

Modified American Plan (Breakfast & Dinner)

  • A great option for those using the Resort as a base for excursions throughout the day. This plan includes Breakfast and Dinner, at a cost of $74 per adult, per day (including gratuity).
  • Under this plan, children aged 4 to 12 eat free from the kids’ menu when their parents purchase this plan. There is a $9 gratuity fee per child, per day.

Here you will find our drivers straight ahead with a sign with your name on it. Shelly Bay Beach

2.9 miles/ 4.6 kilometers | Shelly Bay Beach is the perfect spot for kids to learn how to swim and snorkel thanks to the abundant shady trees and water that stays shallow, even during high tide. It’s an easy 15-minute ride from Hamilton by scooter or taxi. There is also a playground for children to play on just behind the beach.

John Smith’s Bay Beach

3.2 miles/ 5.1 kilometers |

Pale pink sand, interesting rock formations, and clear water await you at this quiet beach. The beautiful reefs just off the beach offer great snorkeling and the lunch cart that sell snacks and drinks during the summer offers a break from the hot sun. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer. If you head to John Smith’s Bay bring your own towels & masks/snorkels. With that you are sure to have a great time.

St. Catherine’s Beach

4.7 miles/ 7.6 kilometers | A quiet beach that’s optimal for swimming, St. Catherine’s is worth the short walk from Tobacco Bay. Check out the fish around the reefs and rocks near the old pier and fort. Keep your eyes open for sea glass, but be careful not the take any away from the beach.

Building Bay

4.7 miles/ 7.6 kilometers | This sea glass paradise has many treasures to offer, including an 1860s fort open to the public and a cave to explore. Make sure to not take the sea glass with you.

Clearwater Beach & Turtle Bay

4.8 miles/ 7.7 kilometers | This family-friendly beach offers tranquil blue waters for water paddling or canoeing and white sand for sunbathing. Lounge under the casuarina trees or take the whole family to the playground and scenic picnic spots.

Cooper’s Island Nature Preserve

5.2 miles/ 8.3 kilometers | This unspoiled paradise is a relaxing 12-acre destination with trails, beaches, and spectacular views. Look for killifish, sea birds and crabs at the salt Marsh and spot whales (March to April) and migratory birds at the Wildlife Observation Tower. There are a few beaches here in the Nature Preserve, and you can snorkel off any of them to see some of the island’s best snorkeling off a beach.

Tom Moore’s Jungle

It’s named after the Irish poet who loved to write in the area. Stroll the forest trails to spot mangrove trees, several species of birds, and swimming grottos, including the Blue Hole. The park also includes interesting underground caves.

Carter House

Tucker House Museum

Long Story Short Bicycle Tours

3.8 miles/6.1 km – Long Story Short is a fun, quirky gift shop that doubles as a tour center. Hop aboard a bicycle and explore St. George’s historic forts, charming cobblestone alleyways, and gorgeous beaches and bays. Sample food from three restaurants during the three-hour tour. St. Georges Historical Society Museum

3.9 miles/6.1 km – Travel through the early days of Bermuda at this museum, which is located in the town of St. George, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The museum is inside Mitchell House, which still looks much like it did when it was built in the 1730s, including period furniture and a colonial-era kitchen. Other documents and artifacts include a printing demonstration with a Gutenberg-style printing press.

King’s Square

3.9 miles/6.1 km – Kick off a walking tour of St. George’s at King’s Square, a popular local gathering place surrounded by colonial-era buildings, including the 1782 town hall and the Bermuda National Trust Museum. The building that now houses the Bank of Butterfield served as a mess hall during the American Revolution in 1776. Check out the replica ducking stool by the waterfront – it’s often the site of colonial reenactments.

KS Watersports

3.9 miles/6.1 km – See Bermuda from every angle with air and sea adventures by KS Watersports. Explore the ocean aboard a jet ski, join a small group on an adventure powered by the Wildcat, or enjoy a bird’s eye view of the island while parasailing. 3.9 miles/6.1 km – An important stop in the African Diaspora Heritage Trail, this museum features the social, political, and cultural achievements of black Bermudians. Unfinished Church

4 miles/6.4 km – This elegant St. George’s Town structure is an important landmark. Construction started in 1874 and the church was intended to replace St. Peter’s Church after a storm damaged that church beyond repair, but it was never finished due to funding problems and a split within the church. A hurricane destroyed the nascent Gothic structure in 1926, leaving behind ruins that are now a protected historic monument, which also serves as a popular wedding location.

Burnt Point Fort

4.1 miles/6.7 km – Built by the British in 1688, this fort once defended against enemy ships and allowed supervision of illegal sea trading. Face Smith’s Parish from the ruins to spot the former support structure for Bermuda Railways.

There are only 6 to 8 flights arriving and departing each day and the runway itself is not very close to the resort. In addition, prevailing winds coming from the south prevent any loud noises.

Yes, but only for dinner. Dress code in the Palm Court dining room is casual. Dress code in the Hibiscus dining room is smart casual, which means no shorts except Bermuda shorts, no sneakers, and male shirts must have a collar.

What is the best way to reach the City of Hamilton from the resort?

Taking a taxi or bus are the best options. During the weekdays, buses pick up passengers from the bus stop in front of the property’s front gate every 30 minutes and every 60 minutes on the weekends.

Is smoking allowed on the resort?

  • Smoking on the room patios/balconies is allowed, but the sliding glass door must be closed while smoking.
  • Smoking is allowed in any outdoor area.
  • Cigar smoking is limited to open-air areas only.
