Here you will find our drivers straight ahead with a sign with your name on it. John Smith’s Bay

0.4 miles/ 650 meters | Pale pink sand, interesting rock formations, and clear water await you at this quiet beach. The beautiful reefs just off the beach offer great snorkeling and the lunch cart that sell snacks and drinks during the summer offers a break from the hot sun. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer. If you head to John Smith’s Bay bring your own towels & masks/snorkels. With that you are sure to have a great time.

Cooper’s Island Nature Preserve

2.0 miles/ 3.2 km | This unspoiled paradise is a relaxing 12-acre destination with trails, beaches, and spectacular views. Look for killifish, sea birds and crabs at the salt Marsh and spot whales (March to April) and migratory birds at the Wildlife Observation Tower. There are a few beaches here in the Nature Preserve, and you can snorkel off any of them to see some of the island’s best snorkeling off a beach.

Building Bay

8.1 miles/ 13 kilometers | This sea glass paradise has many treasures to offer, including an 1860s fort open to the public and a cave to explore. Make sure to not take the sea glass with you.

Shelly Bay Beach

2.8 miles/ 4.5 kilometers | Shelly Bay Beach is the perfect spot for kids to learn how to swim and snorkel thanks to the abundant shady trees and water that stays shallow, even during high tide. It’s an easy 15-minute ride from Hamilton by scooter or taxi. There is also a playground for children to play on just behind the beach.

Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo

1.9 miles/3 km – The animal habitat exhibits at this seven-acre Flatts Village destination focus on oceanic island species, including more than 200 species of fish and marine invertebrates and over 300 birds, reptiles and mammals. It is popular with both kids and adults.

Carter House

2.6 miles/4.1 km – This fascinating old house features a rare combination of traditional 17th-century dwelling style and 18th-century Georgian mansion design. It has remained nearly unchanged structurally for nearly 300 years and features an impressive antique collection that ranges from Bermudian cedar furniture, English and Chinese porcelain, and a period-style nursery. An attic display explores the home’s architecture and the lives of the people who lived there.

Crystal & Fantasy Caves

3 miles/4.8 km – Unforgettable underground sights await in this popular attraction. Deep pools of clear blue water are surrounded by crystal formations of all shapes and sizes, from big chandeliers to thin soda straws.

Palm Grove Gardens

3.2 miles/5.1 km – This beautifully manicured 18-acre garden is privately owned, but opens to the public Monday through Thursday. Lush palm, palmetto, Sago, and coconut trees and limestone huts dot the grounds. An aviary houses quite a few parrots. Just married? Walk through the moongate for good luck. A wishing well and a lily pond with a Bermuda island map round out the experience.

Dive Bermuda – Grotto Bay

3.4 miles/5.4 km – Daily one- and two-tank dives offer a chance to explore Bermuda’s many reefs and wrecks in a valet-style small group environment. Take a PADI diving course or try the Discover Scuba Dive experience, a popular option for divers who can only spare a few hours. The dive boat, Bottom Time, visits a shallow reef for snorkeling every afternoon.

Tom Moore’s Jungle

3.4 miles/5.4 km – Also known as Blue Hole Park, Tom Moore’s Jungle is a 12-acre reserve that offers the best of wild Bermudian habitats. It’s named after the Irish poet who loved to write in the area. Stroll the forest trails to spot mangrove trees, several species of birds, and swimming grottos, including the Blue Hole. The park also includes interesting underground caves.

Blue Hole Park

3.4 miles/5.4 km – Also known as Tom Moore’s Jungle and Walsingham Nature Preserve, this popular park spreads over 12 acres. Explore trails and paths to see a variety of natural attractions, including caves with stalactites, natural pools, and the clear blue mangrove pond that the park is named for.

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art

4.1 miles/6.6 km – See Bermuda through the eyes of artists as diverse as Georgia O’Keeffe, Winslow Homer and Albert Gleizes at this museum, which was created to foster an understanding of Bermudian history and culture and enrich the community with art education. Paintings range from lush landscapes to the Bermudian people and the island’s cultural heritage. Collections celebrate Bermuda’s intrinsic beauty through creations by Bermudian and international artists.

Bermuda Botanical Gardens

4.2 miles/6.8 km – This 35-acre park is more than a century old and is famous for its collection of flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants. Take the thrice-weekly walking tour or explore on your own to see the subtropical fruit trees, Banyan trees, hibiscus, the aviary, and glass structures that house cacti, orchids, and manicured gardens. A sensory garden features aromatic flora so that blind visitors can experience the park’s bounty.

Ocean Discovery Centre | BUEI

4.8 miles/7.7 km – A project of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI), the Ocean Discovery Centre is dedicated to educating visitors about the wonders of the ocean. There’s something to thrill every member of the family here, from an enthralling interactive exploration of the Bermuda Triangle to a literal treasure trove of items rescued from shipwrecks. You can even test your sailing skills and train on grinding and racing simulators in the America’s Cup sailing exhibit.

Carter House

6.3 miles/10.2 km – Carter House is one of the oldest homes in Bermuda. Sturdy Bermuda stone and classic architecture house four centuries of St. David’s history and culture, including 17th-century tools and a look at what life was like back then. A recreated settlers’ hut features an original cooking fireplace and an old tavern table.

Admiralty House Park

6.4 miles/10.3 km – Built on the site of a former home for admirals of the British Royal Navy, this small park near Spanish Point is full of opportunities to explore, including walking trails, ruins and a beach surrounded by limestone cliffs. Hidden underground tunnels once served as discreet entrances to the home. A pathway leads to the top of the cliffs, where you can take in a scenic view or jump into the waters.

Victoire Cafe & Cycle Club

Long Story Short Bicycle Tours

6.9 miles/11.1 km – Long Story Short is a fun, quirky gift shop that doubles as a tour center. Hop aboard a bicycle and explore St. George’s historic forts, charming cobblestone alleyways, and gorgeous beaches and bays. Sample food from three restaurants during the three-hour tour. Other documents and artifacts include a printing demonstration with a Gutenberg-style printing press.

Unfinished Church

7.1 miles/11.4 km – This elegant St. George’s Town structure is an important landmark. Construction started in 1874 and the church was intended to replace St. Peter’s Church after a storm damaged that church beyond repair, but it was never finished due to funding problems and a split within the church. A hurricane destroyed the nascent Gothic structure in 1926, leaving behind ruins that are now a protected historic monument, which also serves as a popular wedding location.

Somers Garden

7.1 miles/11.5 km – This calm green park is free and open daily. A relaxing place to take a break, Somers Garden is named after Sir George Somers, the colonial founder of Bermuda. A modest tomb pays tribute to him. A large fountain and a moongate (an architectural feature considered to be good luck for newlyweds who walk through it) are also featured on the grounds.

Burnt Point Fort

7.2 miles/11.7 km – Built by the British in 1688, this fort once defended against enemy ships and allowed the supervision of illegal sea trading. Face Smith’s Parish from the ruins to spot the former support structure for Bermuda Railways.

Moran Meadows Bermuda Horse Trail Ride

7.4 miles/11.9 km – For a unique view of Bermuda’s trails, coastline, and beaches, hop aboard the back of one of Moran Meadows’ friendly horses for a 60- to 90-minute ride. Fort St. Catherine and Museum

7.8 miles/12.6 km – Bordered by St. Catherine Beach and Achilles Bay, Fort St. Catherine is one of the most impressive forts in Bermuda. The exhibits and artifacts in the museum, including an antique weapon collection and dioramas of Bermudian history, are an interesting way to spend an afternoon. Alexandra Battery

7.8 miles/12.6 km – This former fort dates from the 1860s and still has one of the nine guns that were mounted there, as well as two emplacements for modern guns that you can still climb up to enjoy the view. Nearby Building Bay beach is a popular destination for colorful sea glass.

St. David’s Lighthouse

7.9 miles/12.7 km – St. David’s Lighthouse perches on the highest point of the island’s eastern tip and beams light 20 miles over the ocean. It dates back to 1879 but still serves as a beacon today, as well as the finish line for major Trans-Atlantic yacht races. Visit in April or May to see humpback whales migrating past Bermuda or climb the 85 steps to the top for views of the countryside and water.

Hydrobike Bermuda

7.9 miles/12.7 km – The twin pontoons and pedal-driven propeller keep these fun watercrafts stable so you can cruise across the water as easily as you’d ride a bike on land. Built-in coolers, storage, and drink holders make it easy to pack a lunch and drinks and pedal to a secluded beach. Alternatively, two adults and two kids can share a paddleboat.

Bronco Stables

7.9 miles/12.8 km – Explore the historic charm of St. George’s with a horse-drawn carriage tour by Bronco Stables. Snap photos as you make your way along the coast, where you’ll see colonial-era homes, tropical gardens, a working dairy farm and the sweeping ocean views awaiting you at Gates Fort. Keep your eyes peeled for sea glass during a stop at Buildings Bay Beach.

Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve
